2023 FRIENDS OF CANADIAN SIMMENTAL FOUNDATION AUCTION is an Outstanding Success

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 9, 2023

Ancaster, Ontario, Canada – The Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation (FCSF) are pleased to announce another successful event hosted with a live auction and amazing hospitality provided by the Ontario Simmental Association.

Ancaster Fair Grounds was a spectacular location for this year’s Canadian Simmental Association’s (CSA) National Convention and AGM; with the FCSF annual auction once again a highlight of the weekend’s activities.

Close to 300 people from across Canada gathered for the annual event which took part August 5th, following the Canadian Simmental Association Annual meeting and banquet. The 2023 FCSF Auction raised a total of $132,470, our highest auction total to date. This total included $48,820 that was raised on Lot 1, a bred heifer “Destiny Currency Shania donated by Destiny Simmentals of Meaford Ontario.

During the 2023 Young Canadian Simmental Association’s (YCSA) National show, which was held the final day of the Convention, the FCSF Directors presented $15,000 from the auction proceeds to the YCSA for ongoing youth activities. The FCSF also donated $5,000 to help financially support YCSA members with travel costs to get to Ontario.

“The Foundation is thrilled with the success of our 2023 auction, it is always wonderful to get together with fellow breeders to celebrate our breed and our youth” stated FCSF President Garth Rancier. “The funds collected will continue to be used for youth development, education, research, scholarships and bursaries.”

On behalf of the FCSF Board Members Garth Rancier, Killam AB, Scott Matthews, Cookshire-Eaton QC, Mark Shologan, Westlock AB, Deanne Young, Breton AB, Marlin LeBlanc, Estevan SK, Roger Deeg, Strathmore AB, Glenn Wotton, Little Britain ON, Ken Lewis, Spruce Grove AB, Lynette Hoegl, Lloydminster SK and Shane Williams, East Garafraxa ON, thank you to all the buyers, donators, volunteers and staff that made this year another amazing success!
